– a musical fairytale drama for and with children and youngsters

Everyone knows the fairy tale of Cinderella and the story of the poor girl who goes through an awful lot before she gets the prince and half the kingdom.

The renowned English composer sir Peter Maxwell Davies wrote an opera-version in which  all the roles are sung by children. In an almost contemporary universe the story is told in a fun and charming way with lots of singing, music and dance. We’ve got both dancing cats, a singing train and some very evil sisters.

Operaen i Midten premiered the opera in Denmark and found the right young talents for the solo-parts.
Young girls from the Jutland School of Singing in Herning amounted as the choir, The Royal Danish Ballet School in Holstebro supplied the dancers and MIVU (MidWest Youth Orchestra) played the instruments.
